The contributions of patrons of arts and science have made a difference in history. Patronage still makes a significant impact through grants, sponsorships, scholarships and more.

To better understand the importance of patronage, the exhibit tracks the relationships of authors represented in the Posner Collection with their patrons.

This exhibit will show diverse types of patronage and tell interesting facts behind the publication of great books in history.

Also, this exhibit will recognize the important but often neglected role of patronage in history, and hopefully will stimulate today’s community leaders to be active supporters for the development of the arts and sciences.

This exhibit opens on the April 30th at the Posner Center in Carnegie Mellon University.
